Cotswolds Salesforce Community Group: March 2023
It felt great to welcome the first Cotswolds Salesforce Community Group in Cheltenham in 2023. On Thursday, March 2, 2023, members were asked to join the community online or in person.
Many new and familiar faces attended The Workplace, including speakers. Routine Automation, the official food and beverage sponsor, provided enough delicious sandwiches and amazing brownies to serve the entire Salesforce Ohana. It had to turn to sending members away with leftovers!

Tips on successful deployment with Evgeniy Sukach, Routine Automation
Evgeniy discussed best practises for releasing custom features to the Salesforce Production Environment in an efficient manner. Discovered which procedures a Salesforce Developer/Admin should follow to reduce the likelihood of unexpected issues during the go-live, what UAT period is critical, and appropriate post-production monitoring.
Custom Metadata with Michelle Hansen, Slalom
Michelle demonstrated Custom Metadata, which is as simple to set up as a custom object and flexible enough to help you solve a variety of problems. Showed us what Custom Metadata is and how it is used in Flow to address a common use case, as well as other ideas for how you can use this incredibly versatile tool as a Salesforce Administrator!
Flow Documentation with Mark Jones, Time Technology LTD
Mark demonstrated how to document your flows by providing insightful suggestions on how to create documentation for your Flows that is useful to you and your users, as well as how to use this in the Salesforce platform to aid in your documentation efforts.
