Milk Bottles | Coacto Year of Change #2

Milk Bottles | Coacto Year of Change #2

One way in which we are trying to be more sustainable is through the use of milk bottle deliveries. Not only does this support a local business, but there is less plastic involved, and the glass bottles can be washed and reused.

It might seem like going backwards to the days of milk delivery, but this is such an important change to make – and an easy one too!

Here are some benefits:

  1. Time Saver

You’ll still have to do your food shop of course, but those extra trips out to get milk? Those are sorted!

2) Environmental impact

As the glass bottles are reusable, they can be rinsed out and used repeatedly. And when they have been reused as many times as possible, they can easily be recycled. So, having a milk delivery can reduce plastic waste and reduce your carbon footprint too. Ordering your milk from a local supplier means the milk has less of a journey, and arrives fresher too!

3) Supporting local farmers

Here at Coacto, we are keen on supporting local businesses, charities and communities. Having milk delivered from local farms helps to keep them running and supports economic growth in our area. Plus, it’s great to know precisely where your milk is coming from!

This is just one change that we have made in order to try and become more sustainable in our lives. It’s important to encourage local businesses and charities; a practise which we also try to follow in our work. Through Pledge 1% we have been able to use our practical skills to help local companies who need a bit of help. Helping those businesses to make changes which can improve how they run makes a big difference, and can be so important for them.
