“Not only must we be good, but we must also be good for something.” This inspiring quote from Henry David Thoreau, is certainly something that our team strives to achieve and as members of Pledge 1%, we have a combined responsibility to do just that.

What is the Pledge 1% movement?

Pledge 1% is an inspiring corporate philanthropy movement encouraging business leaders all over the globe to find suitable ways to give back. It provides a platform to leverage a portion of your future success to support nonprofits and community initiatives with a proven track record of helping businesses of all sizes and stages have a positive impact without negative impact to their own goals.

There are different options available and your business can choose to pledge anything from equity to time or product to profit.

Pledging 1% of Coacto’s time

Coacto is a proud member of Pledge 1% and we fully support their global movement to inspire, educate and empower every entrepreneur to do some good. In 2016, our Founder and Principal consultant, Paul Harris decided that it was important for Coacto to pledge 1% of employee time. By having this responsibility, Paul and the team have provided:

• Traditional hands-on volunteering: Paul pledges his time to chair important governor meetings at a local school and Jessica is in the process of registering to become a reading volunteer.
• Our skills and expertise: We have provided our knowledge and expertise to two fantastic local charities in the Gloucestershire area, in particular Winston’s Wish to discover how they could benefit from using Salesforce and The Chamwell Centre to upgrade their existing Salesforce system. We have also offered our services and financial support to fellow Salesforce institutions located in India.
• Workforce development & supportive learning: In 2021, we worked with a specialist education provider to develop an opportunity for not just one, but two Salesforce Apprentices to join our team. We have been working to support their journey’s through regular mentoring, experience learning and constant communication.
