Cotswolds Community Group September 2021: Super Summary

Cotswolds Community Group September 2021: Super Summary

Last Thursday 9th September 2021, we were thrilled to host our BIGGEST ever Cotswolds Salesforce Community Group event. We were grateful to see so many new and familiar faces of the Salesforce Ohana. It was great to have everyone join us to hear from our inspirational (and worldwide) speakers, plus take part in our ever challenging and increasingly popular Salesforce Trivia Quiz!

Just in case you couldn’t join us, here’s what you missed:

Fantastic Speakers & Sessions

This September, our Cotswolds Salesforce Community Group went global once again with our speakers joining us from around the UK and the USA! Discover more about our speakers and what they chatted through below:

Steve Molis – Salesforce superhero & MVP

Joining us from Boston in the United States, Steve is a 10x Salesforce MVP with a passion for formulas and helping others. We are still so amazed that he took time out of his day to present at our September Community Group. Steve shared plenty note-worthy tips and tricks to utilise Salesforce to its best and help us all to make the world a better place, one CRM user at a time. If you want to discover more about his session, he has uploaded all of his slides into the Cotswolds Chatter Group

Takeaway Tip: There are some powerful techniques that use basic maths to simplify complex formulas, for example, using case statements and functions like prior value for moving journey, profile, role, record type.

Simon Bozzoli – Founder and main man at LDN Apprenticeships

Stepping in for Sarah Harris who was unwell, Simon took to the virtual stage and shared his experiences on how LDN Apprenticeships are helping to increase diversity within the recruitment process for employing Salesforce talent and how you could benefit. For more information or to enquire about hiring Salesforce talent, we highly recommend you chat to the team at LDN Apprenticeships.

Takeaway Tip: LDN Apprenticeships advertise, short list, screen and prepare. They also don’t use CVs since these have little value with young people.

Pei Mun Lim – Salesforce Trainer and SaConja at Zenhao

Using a unique and interactive platform called MentiMeter, Pei advised on the variety of Salesforce Discovery approaches using her seasoned CRM Consultant and Programme Manager experiences. Pei’s goal was to get our lovely audience to remember that managing expectations and getting the discovery process right,  are the key secrets to a smooth project.

Takeaway Tip: Poor misunderstanding of requirements and mismanagement of expectations are the top two main causes of project challenges.

We felt so lucky to have such fantastic people join our community to share their knowledge and we’re going to share the details from their sessions across our blog over the next few weeks – Check back here soon!

Salesforce Trivia Time

As well as some incredibly useful sessions, our attendees were welcomed to take part in our Salesforce Trivia; which seems to be ever-growing in popularity and challenging questions!

Members of the community were put on the spot as their knowledge was tested with questions like ‘What is the highest Trailblazer rank?” and “How many people work at Transbay Tower?”

The competition was tight and the line up was close between participants, (we promise it wasn’t rigged) but our congratulations go out to Andy Pieroux and John Sim for topping the winners podium! Have you got what it takes to win our next trivia quiz? You best sign up for our next event.

See you in November!

We really enjoyed hosting our September Community Group and we always like connecting with our local and international Ohana. We hope to see you in November for our last meeting on 2021. Registration is open for entry here! Don’t forget, you can join our Chatter Group to keep up to date with the latest information.
