Positive tips for Mental Health Awareness Week 2021

Positive tips for Mental Health Awareness Week 2021

From Monday 10th – Friday 16th May 2021, the world will be celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week by encouraging individuals to be aware of how important their wellbeing is. We feel it’s imperative that we support our team with their mental health and have weekly chats over a cup of tea. We also work hard to provide a safe environment where our team can express themselves in a positive capacity.

With this in mind, for World Mental Health Awareness Week we have some minor yet mighty tips on how you (or someone you know) can improve your wellbeing and frame yourself to have a more positive mindset, especially after the incredibly challenging year we’ve all faced:

Rephrase and restructure worry-some thoughts

Pesky, niggling negative thoughts – we all have them. Whether you are worried about completing a project on time or if you are feeling negative about your home life, it can be extremely difficult to shake off worry-some thoughts at times. But there is a way to manage these thoughts more effectively and provide yourself with a clearer headspace. The next time you feel overwhelmed or worried, try breaking the project or problem down into small chunks and restructuring what you need to do so you are able to deal with ONE thing at a time.

Encourage yourself to learn

Here at Coacto, our team is committed to improving personal skills as well as encouraging positive mental health and as part of the Salesforce Ohana we have the ability to utilise Trailhead learning modules. The platform is home to a plethora of quick and easy learning modules and covers a range of topics from platform specific to wellbeing. We highly recommend this Trailhead that our team is working to complete as part of Mental Health Awareness Week: Enhance Employee Wellbeing with Camp B-Well.

Spend time in nature

It’s no secret that we live in an extremely fast-paced society, however if the past year has taught us anything it’s to take a step back and recuperate with a little help from nature. Get outside (rain or shine) and listen to the songs of the birds, watch the plants and trees sway with the wind and take a few deep breaths – mmm, that feels better already! Better still, you can help encourage the development of nature by planting a Coacto Seedstick. There’s nothing more rewarding for your mental health than witnessing the growth of the seeds of positivity you’ve sown.

Don’t be afraid to talk

This is highly considered as a pro-tip…quite simply, please ask for help when you need it. It’s always ok to ask for help, whether it be in a work or personal situation. Although it can feel like a hugely overwhelming step to take, a problem shared is a problem halved and can have a huge impact on improving your mental health by simply speaking about your challenges, no matter how big or small.

Introduce a gentle exercise routine

Your physical health is just as important as your mental health and they go together hand-in-hand when it comes to your wellbeing. If you are struggling to fit a work out it into your already crammed schedule, try taking 5-10 minutes to gently practise a yoga routine before your breakfast or ditch the car if you are able to walk to the shops for dinner or need to run a small errand. Believe it or not, exercising can give your body the boost it needs and your mind for that matter too.

We really hope that these tips help to improve yours or a loved one’s mental health and we’d be delighted to hear your wellbeing tips, join us on social media and let’s stay connected.
