Cotswolds Salesforce Community Group: Admins to Architects

It was great to catch up with the Salesforce community on Thursday 24th February 2022 at the Cotswolds Community Group. The virtual event was bursting at the seams with excellent Salesforce sessions delivered by Amanda Beard-Neilson, Gemma Blezard and Francis Pindar and offered a great opportunity to engage with the community.
Since the event, we’ve shared Amanda’s highlights and Gemma’s highlights but this week we’re excited to share some information from Francis’ session.
Francis Pindar, an awesome technical architect and Salesforce expert
Francis works for NetStronghold as a technical architect and helps companies to be successful with Salesforce and advocates on bridging the gap between business and technology. What’s more is that Francis has taught over 90,000 students to succeed on the Salesforce platform through career guidance and certification.
You may have seen Francis at a number of events including Salesforce’s Cloudforce and Dreamforce in the US. He also rocks a wealth of accreditations and certifications like Salesforce MVP (2012 – present), Developer, London’s Calling organiser and many more!
Inside every Admin there is an Architect
Francis’ session was centred around his beliefs that every Salesforce Admin is a hidden Architect. Francis explained the functionalities of technical architecture and that although it may appear to be something that is only understandable from an architect’s point of view but it’s not always the case. Actually, architects are depicted as ‘big picture thinkers and in depth problem solvers’, particularly by Salesforce, however Francis’ opinion is that architects are planners and detailed ones at that.

Francis explained that he looks at architecture as ‘design decisions that are hard to change’ and the progressions that are available for administrators to learn how to become those big thinkers and in depth problem solvers.

During the informative session, Francis also shared his handy Salesforce Capability Map which we highly recommend you take a look at to determine the functional capabilities across the Salesforce platform as well as cool architect templates and tools.
We highly recommend you check out Francis’ Twitter and LinkedIn profiles to keep up to date with his upcoming events and other cool Salesforce stuff!
