Apprentice Hoots: Studying for your credential

Apprentice Hoots: Studying for your credential

It can often be difficult to source new learning opportunities not to mention setting aside the time to complete the studies. This week in Charlotte’s Apprentice Hoots blog, she will explain the positive outcomes that independent learning courses have had on reaching her Salesforce credential goals.

Studying for your credential

The beauty of Salesforce, is that there are so many resources that are readily available and accessible for you to learn and prepare for any credentials you are working towards. Learning new things can be a challenge and often fall by the wayside when you are working. I wanted to share some of my positive learning experiences and the resources that have enabled me to learn and prepare for my own credential at my own pace while still managing my workload effectively. Check them out below:

Salesforce Administration Credential Trailmix on Trailhead

The credential Trailmix has been an excellent learning tool for me so far. The aim of the Trailmix is to help Trailblazer like me pass their Salesforce Administration Credential by giving you hands-on experience and providing knowledge. By completing a quiz or practice project at the end of each module, this keeps you engaged due to the fact that you have to retain this information to pass and continue with the Trailmix. You can try it out for yourself on Trailhead.

Salesforce Certified Administrator Course delivered by Francis Pindar on Udemy

Recommended by my colleague Gary, I have been independently learning everything there is to know about being a Salesforce Certified Administrator with Francis Pindar. What I love about how Francis delivers his knowledge is how engaging he makes the content. Within the course content, Francis demonstrates clicking away through the Salesforce org while not only explaining what he’s doing but why he’s doing it! Francis does a great job at condensing the information while remaining concise and you might find this takes less time than the actually Trailmix as suggested above. So if you’re short on time, this is definitely a great place to start. Alternatively, if you have already completed the Trailmix, it’s an excellent way to refresh your memory and summarise everything you have already learnt. For more information on this course, head over to the Udemy site.

SalesforceBEN

Another great resource I have found for learning Salesforce related information, is SalesforceBEN. With articles, videos, certification preparation guides, tips and even free Salesforce Administration practice exams, there is something for everyone. Head over to SalesforceBEN and start bookmarking your favourite articles to read when you get a moment.

Superbadges with my peer

Superbadges…my biggest goal, prior to my administration credential of course! I have found these to be a challenge and would really like to complete these without assistance from Youtube or Google tutorials. So I’ve taken matters into my own hands and together with a fellow LDN Apprentice we have made arrangements to learn and practice our Superbadges collaboratively. We’ll keep you posted with our progress.

Administrator Practice Test

Even if you don’t feel comfortable with taking the plunge and booking your exam (for real) it is always good to complete the practice exams so you can get an idea of the sort of questions you will be asked ahead of time. There are many sites that you can do this on such as SalesforceBEN (mentioned above), Focus of Force or even on Salesforce’s Trailhead.

As you can see there are many resources available for you to discover an efficient learning experience that works for you. Good luck!

Owl see you later…
