It was great to see so many members of the Salesforce Ohana join the virtual meet up, listen to our inspirational speakers and take part in our Salesforce trivia quiz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We felt really lucky to have been joined by two excellent speakers and feel it\u2019s appropriate to re-share the top points from their informative sessions. This week, we\u2019re starting off with Connie Hazendonk and the Admin Horror Show&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Connie Hazendonk, the mighty Salesforce trainer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It was great to have Connie join us to share her knowledge as a dedicated Salesforce trainer. Connie works to inspire admins and developers in the Salesforce community by sharing the good, the bad and the ugly Admin experiences. If you are wanting a skilled Salesforce trainer, we highly recommend you check out the full credential line up on Connie\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3IsdbnN\">LinkedIn profile<\/a> and don\u2019t forget to also follow her <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3otMoPT\">Trailhead journey<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With Connie\u2019s vast experience in the Salesforce ecosystem, it was interesting to hear the do\u2019s and don\u2019ts of the Salesforce world. The information was explained in an almost fireside chat capacity and there were lots of valuable points to consider and for users to practically take advantage of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Remove delete privileges from users<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most popular points from Connie\u2019s Admin Horror Show was to ensure you remove delete privileges from everyone that should not be deleting records from the system (certainly something to be scared of!) and to use permission sets and profiles to identify different user groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Use a Salesforce sandbox to keep development separate from production<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Another efficient reminder surrounded sandboxes and how they hold significant value to segregating development from production and allow a (safe) space to try things out, test what\u2019s been built without interrupting production usage &#8211; remember to use the sandbox, they\u2019re not just for kids you know!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Validate system behaviour alongside user experience<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s also key to consider what behaviours users need, without forgetting the user experience. In the discovery process, be sure to ask questions around their existing system; like <em>how easy is it to use, what could make the system better, how often does it occur<\/em> and <em>how long does it take?<\/em> Why, even go as far to ask a customer\/user <em>how many fields really need to be captured<\/em> or<em> can something be delivered better? <\/em>It\u2019s an important part of the discovery process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Remember to test your work!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A key and final point that\u2019s not to be missed is testing. This final process is so important to get things right. That\u2019s why you should test, test and test&#8230;and then test again!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>See you in March 2022!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Bear with us as we prepare all of the Cotswolds Community Group dates for 2022.
