As part of my Salesforce Apprenticeship, I have been encouraged to develop my skills using the online learning platform, Trailhead from Salesforce. The platform allows me to choose my own learning adventure through either modules, projects or ultimately superbadges when I\u2019m feeling brave enough! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a nutshell, modules are a great way to learn new skills in bite size units that finish up with a fun quiz to test your knowledge, Projects give you the opportunity to get hands-on experience with step by step instructions of using Salesforce and Trailhead superbadges require the user to prove their skills with real-world business challenges with no assistance. After completing one of these learning experiences, you can gain badges and points to reach new ranks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Going through the Ranks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Back when I began my Salesforce journey, I started out as a Scout, the first Trailhead rank. I have since progressed up the ranks (of which there are seven) by challenging myself to earn more points and badges. I have been a Scout, Hiker, Explorer, Adventurer, Mountaineer and I\u2019m now rocking the Expeditioner rank – just one short of the highest rank, THE RANGER!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Battling for badges<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Upon finishing a Module, Project or a Superbagde, you are awarded with badges! These funky little badges represent general knowledge in a specific area. Each badge helps to showcase the variety of skills developed while completing the Trailheads. So far I have earnt 62 badges and have developed 11 skills in total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Punting for points<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I have been working to not only increase my badges but also my points! I focus mainly on the hands-on challenges not only because you can gain a whopping 500 points per challenge but also I prefer the consolidation I get when actively participating rather than reading and answering the quizzes (which is another way to gain points). Quizzes have a sliding point scale, starting at 100 points with a correct answer first time, BUT they do drop each time it takes to get the right answer! Now how to get the most points\u2026the SUPERBADGE!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Each time you complete a Superbadge you get a humongous 2000 points – This is my next Trailhead goal! <\/p>\n\n\n\n Blazing goals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Although I\u2019m ranking as an Expeditioner, I am hoping to make it to a Ranger status real soon – I\u2019m only 38 badges short! I am currently preparing for my Salesforce Administrator Certification and I\u2019m focussing on the Trailmixes to help me get there. I only have 11 badges remaining and 2 Superbadges until I complete the Trailmix and then I\u2019ll only have 27 to go!
