So, does this mean that you could manage projects effectively within a Salesforce org? Yes you can, but it is not part of the standard platform features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Perfect Pair?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Salesforce and project management can be the perfect pair even though there isn\u2019t actually a full project management functionality available within the platform.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How could they work together?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just because Salesforce doesn\u2019t have a full project management functionality doesn\u2019t mean that your team couldn\u2019t manage and deliver a successful project. There are three easy options available so you can make the most from your org as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Option 1: Basic Features in Salesforce<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you require basic tracking of a project\u2019s status and simple collaboration for a few key members of your team, then the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/uk\/?ir=1\">built-in Salesforce features<\/a> with a touch of customisation will do just the trick. We understand that this isn\u2019t by far the most suitable option for larger organisations but it could be enough for smaller teams to start out with.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Straight out of the box, you can begin tracking progress with Salesforce tasks, collaborate with your team and share documents using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/uk\/products\/chatter\/overview\/\">Salesforce Chatter<\/a> and report on and visualise the key insights to the project with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/video\/304750\/\">Reports and Dashboards<\/a>. You could even use tools such as Process Builder to automate some of the required functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Option 2: Download Project Management Apps through Salesforce AppExchange<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the great things about Salesforce is that there are lots of excellent applications available through the <a href=\"https:\/\/appexchange.salesforce.com\/\">Salesforce AppExchange<\/a> that can be easily integrated into your existing org. In the <a href=\"https:\/\/appexchange.salesforce.com\/%5C\">AppExchange<\/a> you will be able to choose project management tools that were specifically built for Salesforce users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the leading project management apps available on the AppExchange are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/appexchange.salesforce.com\/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N30000000prucEAA\">Inspire Planner<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/appexchange.salesforce.com\/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N300000055lKwEAI\">TaskRay<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/appexchange.salesforce.com\/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N30000008ZFI5EAO\">Mission Control<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/appexchange.salesforce.com\/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N30000009uYYMEA2\">Milestones PM+<\/a><\/li><li>Plus many more!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are so many benefits to integrating a Salesforce-native app such as easy integration with no additional development required, the flexibility to meet your exact needs, a 360 degree customer view as you can associate other features in your existing org as well as increased security infrastructures, real-time reporting and automation opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Option 3: Download External Project Management Apps<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You might decide that it is more suitable for your team to try some of the well-known project management tools on the market such as <a href=\"https:\/\/asana.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Asana<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/monday.com\/\">Mond<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/monday.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/monday.com\/\">y.com<\/a> &#8211; all of which provide some excellent features and functionality outside of Salesforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Be aware that although it can be exactly what your team requires, there are things to consider when decided whether to use an external tool. For example, non Salesforce-native apps will be hosted outside of your current org, meaning that your data will be sent and stored outside of Salesforce.
