They work in West Cheltenham, one of the<strong> top 10% most deprived areas<\/strong> in the UK. Family Space provide places where parents and children can feel safe, learn skills, rebuild relationships and find a sense of hope.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.coacto.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/FS-pic-4-682x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Family Space Groups\" class=\"wp-image-1224\" width=\"231\" height=\"346\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:28px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Some of the services provided include: <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Stay and Play groups for early years:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>With over <strong>120 children<\/strong> attending and around 90 adults, the group helps parents bond and play with their children, learn parenting skills and socialise with others. It reduces isolation for the parents as well as giving children the opportunity to try new food, engage in messy play, and meet other children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:51px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Contact Centre:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Supported Contact for separated families with over <strong>630 children<\/strong> attending sessions which run every Saturday of the year. The centre has 19 years of experience working with parents who are able to spend time with a child they don\u2019t live with due to family separation or unresolved family contact. It is a stepping stone to better family relationships and more relaxed contact arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cThank you for all you have done. You have helped make a very sad situation more bearable. I won\u2019t forget your help\u201d&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:51px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Food parcels<\/strong>:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Family Space have given food parcels to over <strong>270 families <\/strong>in the past year. Alongside food, they also give out nappies, toiletries and cleaning supplies. <strong>1 in 4 parents have skipped a meal <\/strong>when they can\u2019t afford it, and these food parcels have been instrumental in helping.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cYou have taken the pressure off me worrying how I was going to feed my children whilst my husband is ill in hospital\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:51px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Young Mum baby group<\/strong>:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>With skills building workshops, the group provides a space to make friends and share experiences. According to the Mental Health Foundation, approximately<strong> 68% of women with mental health concerns are mothers<\/strong>. It is these women that Family Space is there to support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cI love meeting mums my own age and sharing experiences. Our children are making friends too. I don\u2019t feel like I\u2019m on my own\u201d&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:51px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the work of Family Space,<strong> 480 children have been directly helped<\/strong> in the past year.
